"WE'VE GOT IT! Villa Amores" shouted Jan van der Marel, March 2022, through the phone just as we were sitting in a watery sun on the beach of Noordwijk and sighed; 'Wonder when 'they' call :-). Three days later, we were at Málaga airport back to Amsterdam when, just before checking in, we heard that the house was ours. Yes, things can go fast with 'them' and 'they'; this is Jan and Marita from Second Home Andalusia in Canillas de Aceituno.

During our search for a holiday home in Spain (Andalusia) a year ago, we stumbled across the site of Second Home Andalusia. After a pleasant first meeting with Jan, we started our search with them. We were assisted by Martin for the rest of the journey.
From patosfa to viñuela; a dream come true
On 28 December 2021, we arrived with our motorhome at the campsite in Los Romanes with the aim of visiting houses from here, together with Jan van der Marel of Second Home Andalusia. After all, we wanted to live permanently in Spain, somewhere in the Axarquía.

After searching throughout Spain, it became clear where we wanted to buy a house. We looked at the various areas over the last year to see what was on offer. However, the houses we liked were soon under offer or reserved.
A SECOND HOME IN SAYALONGA
Buying a house abroad is always very exciting, with many unknown factors that could cause headaches for the buyer. When we came into contact Second Home Andalusia in June 2022, we knew that we had fallen into good hands.

After many visits to Spain, the desire arose to want to own a house in Andalusia. In September 2021 we went on a trip to Spain; researching locations, type of property, through which agent, etc. Many questions and matters to consider, and we had planned three weeks to try to achieve our goal.
At home we looked around on the internet and had already seen the site of Second Home Andalusia.
PROJECT EL MOLINO, BENAJARAFE: THE PURCHASE
A second home in Spain, we had never really thought about that. Until we visited Andalusia more often and were curious whether this could be our future destination. So, we rented a house there for a longer period and the owner gave us the best advice for our search, as to approach Jan and Marita of Second Home Andalusia when we would be in Spain.

In the beginning of January, Nathalie and Hans called: "We have seen a nice house in Almachar that we would like to buy, and actually we have already agreed on the price and so on, but now we are getting cold feet. Can you help us in the further purchase process?"

Without the guidance of Second Home Andalusia there is a very good chance that we would not have found a home in Sedella. They knew exactly which paths we could and should take to make the purchase a village house in a country that was unfamiliar to us. We can confidently recommend everyone to go with this team; they are reliable, knowledgeable and perhaps most importantly; they are nice and very pleasant people.

A while ago we started looking for a second home in Spain, just to enjoy the wonderful climate and escape from the worries of everyday life at home in the Netherlands. After checking out several regions it became clear that the Axarquía in Andalusia would be our aim. This region has it all, the mild climate, the tranquility, the mountains as well as the beaches and the, even in wintertime, lively villages on the coast.

For a while I had the idea, or rather the dream, of one day buying a house in southern Spain. After preparing for the financial plan I filled in the wish list on the website of Second Home Andalusia. Soon I got a call from Marita who helped me on my journey of buying La Casita Secreta, in picturesque Sedella.
